About IPAU

The International Press Association of Uganda (IPAU) is an organisation of journalists working in Uganda for foreign and international news media. It was previously known as the Foreign Correspondents’ Association of Uganda.

Membership is open to journalists working in Uganda for foreign and international news-media. It is non-profit-making and non-political.

The Association holds regular meetings, inviting newsmakers and experts to off-the-record discussions on developments in Uganda. It also serves as a one-stop shop for communications officers, press attachĂ©s or anybody else who wants to make contact with Uganda’s community of international journalists.

IPAU is run by an elected committee, currently chaired by Halima Athumani and Grainne Harrington. It is a chapter of the Nairobi-based International Press Association of East Africa (IPAEA).
